Quality and Performance
At Cougar Tool, we have been designing and manufacturing downhole drilling tools since 1969, it’s all we do and nobody does it better. The Cougar Tool, Edmonton Facility is an ISO 9001 registered company and has been since 1992. Our in-house manufacturing and quality control, along with our strict material specifications and handling assure us of complete control in order to achieve high quality performance drilling tools.
Engineering
The design and development of all Cougar tools starts with our Customers. Through our Sales Personnel, we learn the problems encountered and the needs and requirements to do a better job. First, Operations, Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering will discuss the opportunity and determine if it is viable. If it is determined that we will proceed, then Engineering will do an extensive design analysis. While working under the strict guidelines of ISO, a preliminary design will be put forward. Then with the aid of CAD, 3D modeling, and Finite Element Analysis, a prototype will be engineered, designed and drafted. Only after extensive in-house and field testing, will the tool be released for production.
Manufacturing
Cougar Tool uses state of the art CNC equipment to manufacture all products. Each part is carefully manufactured to Cougar's exacting standards.
Cougar Tool has recently doubled the size of its manufacturing facility, adding more machines and increasing its work force to meet the demands of the market today.
